FAMILY SERVICES
Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services provides homeless prevention services to support households with basic resources such as food, clothing, emergency home repair, financial assistance and case management. In addition we provide medical transportation services and emergency housing.
Food Pantry Heather Street, Food Pantry Manager, 556-6260
The Food Pantry provides groceries to over 100 households each week. Items for the Food Pantry are donated by community members and purchased for a very low cost from Central Virginia Food Bank.
Open on Thursday from 9am – Noon

Clothes Closet Janet Page, Clothes Closet Manager, 556-3627
The Clothes Closet is a thrift store and accepts donations for gently used clothing, shoes, household items such as curtains and dishes and small furniture items. Individuals who are income eligible can receive vouchers for free items once a month.

Home Repair Andrea Wiley, Intake Coordinator, 556-6260
Our home repair goal is to help Goochland County residents who own their homes and are low income to remain safe in their homes. Typical home repairs include but are not limited to:
- Building handicap ramps
- Repairing roofs
- Repairing well and septic problems
- Repairing unsafe holes in floors or walls

We strive to meet all home repair requests. However we do have limited funds and resources.We make decisions on an individual household situation.

Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services strives to prevent homelessness by working with families to resolve financial crisis. Our goal is to help families avoid situations such as
- Electricity & heat disconnections
- Mortgage default
- Eviction
- Loss of essential transportation
- Essential medication
We work to stretch our limited funds and resources to have the maximum impact on family’s wellbeing.

Transportation is a major obstacle to many individuals. Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services is able to provide transportation for medical appointments to Goochland County adults who have limited income.

At Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services the primary goal of case management is to optimize client functioning by providing services to individuals with multiple and complex needs. Case management helps individuals make changes to improve their life situation.

Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services' Emergency Housing program provides short-term housing to individuals who are experiencing some type of disaster, condemned housing, eviction, or are homeless.

Indoor Plumbing Rehab Heather Street, IPR Administrator, 556-6260
Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services' IPR program provides 0% interest loans to low income home owners who have no indoor plumbing or where existing water delivery or waste disposal systems have failed.
